Five Things God Wants You to Know FIRST: You Need to be Saved. You may ask, "Saved from what?" The answer is, saved from God's judgment of Hell. Because of Adam's sin and disobedience, we all inherited a sin nature. We were born sinners. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;". Also John 3:3, "... Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." SECOND: You Cannot Save Yourself. Nothing we physically do earns us a place in Heaven. Being religious, going to church, baptism, no good works will cause God to allow us to enter Heaven. Titus 3:5 says, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us...." THIRD: Jesus has Provided for Your Salvation. God sent Jesus, His Son, to earth to pay the debt for our sin nature by dying on the cross of Calvary and rising the third day so we can go to Heaven and be with Him. 1 Peter 2:24 says, "Who (Jesus) his own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose strips ye were healed. " John 3:16 states, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." FOURTH: You Must Accept Jesus for Salvation. You must know you are a sinner, in a lost condition, repent and with a sorrowful heart, ask the Lord Jesus Christ to save you; trusting in Him alone for salvation. There are no magic words to say but if the Holy Spirit is convicting you of your sin, and you are truly sorrowful for your sin and repent (turn to God from your sin), God will save you if you just ask Him. Acts 16:31 says, "...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, ..." John 1:12 says, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" And, Romans 10:9 states, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." FIFTH: Now is the Time to Accept Jesus Christ as Your Savior. Don't put this decision off another minute! This is the most important decision you will ever make in your life. 2 Corinthians 6:2 says, "...behold now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation." Hebrews 3:7-8 states, "...As the Holy Ghost saith, To day if you will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, ...."
